Our future realm

Drum-roll please! ............... We have a paint color!

Let me back up and explain. I love my husband. He is sweet, funny, great to be around and just an all around great catch. However, of the many things we share, taste is not one of them. Not that he doesn't have taste, it's just not the same as mine. So, as you can imagine, picking colors for our future home just isn't going to be easy. Neither one of us want to live with something we find ugly.

With this in mind, I've been working on him for literally years... trying to get him to agree on the color scheme I knew I would want in our future home some day. With the actual day to paint getting closer and closer (as we close on a home) I know my time to convince him to trust my taste is coming to a close. LJ has to see things to understand what it will look like when it's all put together. I on the other hand can see a few different pictures, combine elements in my head and know that it will all look great together. I also have a love of color that I want to be present in our home, but not overwhelming. LJ jokes that I want to live in a Mexican restaurant (with the walls painted in florescent colors). So, even though I would love to paint our living room something bright, we've finally come to a comprise we will both love (i think).

Here is the color I think we will use on one accent wall in our living room (you can't tell but the name is realm):

What do you think? The other three walls will be white, the floor a dark mocha wood with a white and gray rug. The couch will be dark gray and the accent wall will have a bunch of framed pieces, all of which will be in different sized white frames.

I think it will look sofiticated, yet still bold (like me?.. i wish)

I'm pretty excited... now it's time to buy that house!
