Adding a Little Artwork

I've always loved art; especially what it can do for a room. Because I've had a tiny budget in the past and an equally tiny ability to paint; I've made a lot of our art pieces. This means most pieces have been made for specific rooms. Such as the different colors I used to brighten up our first apartment:

I was able to use these again in our basement apartment:

Then in our Houston apartment I did my own version of stary night:

Now that we're in our actual home I want to spend more time on the artwork we choose. I want more pieces filled with meaning, like this drawing of Logan Circle that brings back memories of living in DC (obviously not drawn by me):

But you can't just quickly pick out artwork that has meaning, so until I'm able to figure it out I need to make do with what I have on hand. I've decided to put the painting I made for our apartment eating area on our mantel:

This is one of my favorite paintings I've ever done, so I want to make sure to find it a good permanent home. I don't think it will stay on our mantel forever, but for now it's a huge improvement from the artwork that came with the place :)
