These are a few of my favorite blogs...

(Ok, go back and read the title of the blog in a sing song voice... think 'The Sound of Music'...now you got it!)

For my last post on blogiversary week I'm going to share some of my favorite blogs. These are the blogs that fill up my Google Reader Feedly (yes, still bitter).

#1 Young House Love (I bet you guessed it)
This little family is fixing up their house one project at a time and blogging about it. They use bold colors and clean lines...sound like anyone you know? Ok, yes, my blog is a tiny bit like theirs (Ok, a lot like theirs) but every house and family's story is different. I will admit that sometimes I post a project (like how to change out your electrical switches) and then go to their site and see that they JUST posted about the same project. I promise, I'm not straight up copying them! And if you 'think the lady doth protest too much' I'd like to point out that I posted about painting our kitchen blue BEFORE they posted about painting their kitchen blue...yeah, so there. (Only possible conclusion is they are copying me).

#2 Design *Sponge
This blog covers all sorts of design-type topics. Interior design before and after pictures, products, business, things-I-never-knew-I-wanted-until-they-showed-me, you know... things that make you both marvel at how cool they are and feel inferior because you don't have them. They post about 6 times a day. It's a little nuts. Needless to say, I don't actually read all their posts. There is so much information I often only scroll through posts in my reader when I need some inspiration.

#3 Room Fu
Room Fu is written by an Austin Interior designers named Robin (who also blogs for West Elm and Pottery Barn) and Claire (one of my closest friends - and most frequent commenter on this blog). I checked out this blog because Claire helped with it, but I've kept going back because it's so interesting. My only complaint is that it makes me wish I live in Austin! They do a great job of showing Austinites... Austonians... people who live in Austin where to find great stuff.

#4 House of Turquoise
This is a blog entirely devoted to pictures of houses that are decorated using turquoise. Probably not for everyone...but it is complete eye candy to me. SO PRETTY!!! Of course, there are a lot of beach house because turquoise is often used in beach themed rooms. But I don't mind, it's just so dang pretty!

#5 Charleston Tiny House
This blog is written by a guy who is making one of those 'tiny homes' that you build on a trailer hitch. I love those things! The creativity involved in such a tiny space is so interesting to me. I would love to have one of these as a 'traveling home' for vacations. So fun! Anyways, he doesn't post often, only when he has something new to share, but he house is going to look SO cool. He started out with practically no carpentry skills and is learning as he goes, which I find inspiring.

You may have noticed that most of the blogs I follow are house related... what can I say? I know what I like! But there are a few others I follow that aren't about houses:

#6 My GF Dietitian
When I first started eating Gluten Free I relied a lot on my friend Ashley. She's a dietitian who is also GF. Can't tell you enough how she's helped me figure out how to make a lifestyle change. She recently started this blog and I find it incredibly helpful. There is a lot of GF blogs out there, but most of them aren't actually written by the medical community. This blog not only has great content but its resource tab helps me find other sites that are also helpful for staying on the GF wagon.

#7 Oh I know Presley!
This blog is written by my work-wife... I mean my fellow marketing assistant, Lacey. She's not only an amazing partner at work, she's also the mother of two little girls - one of which is on the spectrum. She recently started blogging about 'the girlie side of autism' and while I'm not normally a big fan of mommy-blogs (sorry, just can't relate yet!), I'm pretty hooked on this one. Lacey does a great job of raising awareness while keeping a good sense of humor about life. I think when you live with a child on the spectrum you just learn to laugh at the little things that don't matter, and I really admire that.
