So, before I show you our next piece of furniture I have to give you a little back-story.
About a month ago Fry’s was having a really good sale. LJ loves Fry’s and we happened to be in the neighborhood so we stopped by. Well, you know how retail chains advertise one or two REALLY great priced items in their sale flyer but when you go in they seem to always be out of stock? Well, this sale had a 40” TV on the sale flyer for only $300. We were 99% sure they were going to be sold out by 4:00 in the afternoon. We decided to ask the sales person anyways. He disappeared for a looooong time (during which we sat there going “this is dumb, why did we even ask, they never have the good stuff after 10am) and then he came back with a TV. Apparently one TV had found its way into some random corner and so it wasn’t sold with all the others in the early hours of the morning. At this point LJ looked at me with the classic “can we keep it? I’ll feed it and take care of it myself, I promise!” look I’m sure parents get all the time. I honestly just felt so bad that the sales guy spend so much time looking for something we didn’t really plan on buying that I shrugged and said “why not?”
So, we currently own a TV for our future bedroom. It’s a little big for a bedroom if you ask me, but I guess now I’ll feel like I’m at the theater when I’m sitting in bed (oh joy!). So, when we were at Bel Furniture on Saturday and I saw the below bedroom entertainment center that matched the bed frame we bought, I decided it was a good find. After all, the bed we bought was so high that we would need something to bring the giant TV up to eye level. So, here it is:
Something I like a lot about it is it can double as LJ’s dresser. LJ is currently using an ikea dresser my parents bought me when I went to college. I’d say 10 years is the most you can expect out of an ikea item and I’m happy to retire it. This new piece even has lined drawers on top:
But it still has the holes drilled into the back of the top two shelves so that the wires can poke through. Seems pretty perfect to me!
Oh, and I can’t end the post without showing you a close up of the drawer pulls. If you ask me, they are the best part:
Till tomorrow!
